This is my first ever re-release of something out of scraps.
At the sugestion of  *SilverBee  I took this photo and added some dodge and burn to it in certain places. Ok I admit I didn't understand what that meant before, having never taken a traditional photography class. I now know that's a darkroom technique, and that it is ok to manip in that way. I cropped very slightly, and adjusted the horizon. I thought about omitting it, but something about the blues in it, I still like. Also, thanks to my co-worker, who not only taught me the basics of the Gimp, which I use (its like photoshop, but open source) he also showed me the dodge and burn techniques. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. It's very close to what I had in mind! Now, you just need to learn how to put borders/frames on these lovely babies and you'll see a huge difference in the presentation! To me, borders/frames are what seperates snapshots from art photography, at least on dA. Unless you are browsing [link] with an eye to find untapped talent, a lot of people just pass over the pictures without a good presentation. Snobbish, I know, but sometimes that's how dA rolls.
Trust me, you're going to have people flocking to see your work in no time at all!
